GainAI vs Meta Muse: which AI agent should run your Facebook ads?

In September 2026 Meta released Muse, a personal AI agent, and on September 29 it added Muse for Small Business: a set of skills and connectors that let Muse read your Facebook Page, your Instagram professional analytics and your Meta ad account, plus tools like Shopify, Stripe, Canva and Lovable.

If you build with AI and want ads running without hiring a marketer, you now have two very different kinds of agent to choose from. Muse is a general business assistant from the company that sells the ads. GainAI is an agent built for one job: taking your website from a description to a live Facebook campaign.

This page is an honest comparison based on what each product publicly states today. Where something isn't published, we say so.

The short answer

  • Choose Muse if you are in the US or Canada, already have a Meta ad account set up, and want one free assistant that also helps with bookkeeping, email, files and other everyday business tasks.
  • Choose GainAI if you want an agent focused on launching and improving ads for a website or app, and especially if you don't have a Meta ad account yet and want ads to start without that setup.

What Meta Muse for Small Business does

According to Meta, Muse is an AI agent that "keeps working across the apps and services you connect." For small businesses it can connect to:

  • Meta's own surfaces: Facebook Pages, Instagram professional account analytics and Meta ad accounts.
  • Fifteen named third-party tools at launch: Asana, Box, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, Granola, HighLevel, Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Lovable, Notion, Shopify, Slack, Stripe and Zoom.

On advertising, Meta's own example is narrow: analyze what is working in your ads and content, check what is trending, and draft a campaign for the following week. Meta states that nothing publishes, sends or spends without your approval. Meta has not published a detailed list of what Muse can change inside a connected ad account, such as budgets, bids or targeting.

Availability. Muse is available to people aged 18 and over in the US and Canada. Meta says it is working on more markets but has not shared timing.

Price. Muse is free with a usage limit. Meta's Help Center lists two paid plans: Power at $20 per month (500M Muse tokens per week) and Maximum at $100 per month (3B Muse tokens per week). Ad spend is separate and is billed by Meta as usual.

What GainAI does

GainAI is an AI marketing agent for founders and small businesses. You describe your website, goal and budget by voice or text. The agent then:

  1. Analyzes your site and your competitors.
  2. Prepares a strategy, audiences, ad copy and images.
  3. Shows you the campaign, budget and duration, and launches only after you explicitly approve them.
  4. Reviews results after launch. Automation is off by default. Suggest mode only writes recommendations; Experiment mode can pause weak ads and test variants within the budget you already approved.

Where ads run. Facebook is available now. Instagram, Threads and other platforms are in development and coming soon.

Two ways to pay for ads.

  • Your own Meta ad account. Connect your Meta Business account, ad account and Page. Meta bills your card directly and GainAI takes 0% of your ad spend.
  • Quick Start. No Meta ad account needed. Ads run from the GainAI Facebook Page and are paid from a prepaid ad balance, with a 10% service fee on top of the budget. A $100 budget costs $110 in total, and the full $100 goes to ads.

Price. Plans are Starter $7, Pro $99 and Scale $299 per month, with 7, 99 and 299 AI credits included. AI credits pay for the agent's work (site analysis, strategy, copy and images) and are separate from ad spend. A new account starts with 5 free AI credits, enough for a first analysis. Full details are on the pricing page.

The real difference: who owns the setup

Muse assumes you already live inside Meta's ecosystem: a Facebook Page, an Instagram professional account and an ad account with a payment method. If you have all of that, connecting it to Muse takes a few clicks.

Many people who just shipped an app with Lovable, Bolt or Cursor don't have that yet. Setting up a Meta Business account, an ad account and billing for the first time is exactly the step where a lot of first campaigns stall. GainAI's Quick Start skips it: you prepay a budget, approve the campaign, and the ads run from the GainAI Page. If you later want everything in your own account, you can connect it and pay no GainAI fee on ad spend.

The trade-off is simple. With Quick Start you pay 10% for speed and no setup. With your own account you pay nothing extra but do the setup yourself. We explain both paths in how to run Facebook ads without an ad account.

A note on neutrality

Muse is built by Meta, the same company that runs the ad auction your campaign buys into. That is not automatically a problem, and Meta says Muse conversations are kept out of its ad systems. But it is worth knowing when you ask an agent to decide how much to spend. GainAI never raises your budget without your approval, and the agent works within the budget and duration you approved.

When Muse is the better fit

We'd rather you pick the right tool than the wrong one:

  • You need help with much more than ads (invoices, email, files, scheduling) and want one assistant for all of it.
  • You are in the US or Canada and already run your own ad account comfortably.
  • Your budget for tools is zero and the free usage limit is enough for you.

When GainAI is the better fit

  • You want to go from "here is my website" to a live campaign without learning Ads Manager.
  • You don't have a Meta ad account, or don't want to set one up just to test an idea.
  • You want an agent that researches your site and competitors and prepares the creatives, not only drafts a plan.
  • You want clear rules: nothing launches without your approval of budget and duration, and automation stays off until you turn it on.

FAQ

Can I use both?

Yes. They don't conflict. Some founders may use a general assistant for daily business tasks and a dedicated agent for ads.

Does GainAI run ads on Instagram?

Not yet. Facebook is available now. Instagram, Threads and other platforms are coming soon.

Is Muse available in my country?

As of October 2026, Meta lists Muse as available in the US and Canada only.

Do I need conversion tracking to judge results?

Not to start. GainAI's reviews can assess clicks and cost per click without it. For website conversions you need tracking such as the Meta Pixel.
